In today’s world, many children are growing up not in the warmth of love, but in the crossfire of conflict between parents. They are too often used as pawns in battles they did not start, manipulated by one parent to reject the other, or denied the truth of their own history.

This isn’t parenting. This is pain passed on.

A child deserves three sacred gifts from their parents:
Unconditional Love
Honest Truth
Reliable Protection

When these are denied, the result is not just a broken family—but often, a broken adult in the making. Children raised in such turmoil grow into adults with deep emotional scars. They struggle to trust, to build balanced relationships, and worse—they may repeat the very patterns that wounded them.

I remember a conversation with my mother that changed me forever. She asked, “Son, do you know why I didn’t divorce your father?” I was surprised. She had never shown signs of resentment or anger toward him.

She said, “I did it for you. I knew if I left, you’d grow up without a father. Children often side with their mothers, and I didn’t want you to grow up missing that part of your soul.”

Even as a grown man, I wept hearing her words. That kind of sacrifice… that kind of wisdom... it made me see how deeply the choices of parents echo into their children’s lives.

This is why I’ve chosen to remain single. Not because I fear love, but because I fear what a careless breakup can do to a child. Divorce, especially one filled with bitterness, leaves scars that no court ruling can heal. I wish more people truly understood what’s at stake—not just for themselves, but for the children caught in between.

It’s time we talk—openly and honestly—about the cost of broken relationships and the path to healing.
